There are two separate charities involved in the running of Plas Brondanw – Ymddiriedolaeth Clough Williams-Ellis Foundation (YCWEF) is responsible for the gardens and café, and Ymddiriedolaeth Susan Williams-Ellis Foundation (YSWEF) is responsible for the historic house and arts centre.
We are happy to welcome groups – access to the garden is priced at £9/head for groups, this can be arranged with the café staff by contacting 01766772772 enquiries@plasbrondanw.com.
Access to the house is free. Talks and guided tours can be arranged by contacting seran@susanwilliamsellis.org . Large groups may be asked to split and visit the house and garden separately, since space is limited inside the house. Visits can sometimes be arranged outside of normal visiting hours, although there will be a £100 charge for this.
We do not currently offer garden tours, but we can refer you to somebody who does.
These offers are available most Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout the season by prior arrangement only.
Book an exclusive visit to Plas Brondanw for your group and have the place to yourselves outside of public opening hours. We can offer exclusive access to groups of around 10 people, along with a choice of hot drinks or a bottle of wine (additional wine is available for a donation). You can choose to have a guided visit with one of our curators who will show you around and tell you about the history of the house and family, or if you prefer you can enjoy the elegant surroundings in the company of your group without the tour.
Exclusive visits cost £100 for 10 people (there is some flexibility around numbers), and are available on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6-8 pm, subject to availability. Please contact rachel.hunt@portmeirion-village.com for more information and to book. A £20 non-refundable deposit is required to book a private visit.
We are very open to discussion if you have something specific in mind, or if your group is particularly interested in some specific aspect of our collections or history, or any of our exhibiting artists.
