First Saturday of the month: 10am - 11:30am
The purpose of the club is to give the children an opportunity to work with experienced artists who will introduce them to different materials and techniques.
All these workshops are suitable for children over 6 years old. We will be using ink, paint and other substances that can ruin clothes, so wear something you don’t mind ruining. Parents are welcome to leave their children in our care during workshops.
In fairness to all participants and workshop leaders, and to ensure that there are enough materials and space for all children taking part, please note that we will now be restricting the number of children at the Young Art Club to 12 per session, and you must book for these workshops before 6pm the previous evening. Thank you for your cooperation.

These workshops will be happening at Portmeirion – arrive at the toll by 1:15, Plas Brondanw staff will be there to meet you. Entry to the village is free for those who take part in the workshops. You are welcome to leave your children in our care, or come with them to support them, but there is limited space in the store where we will create the work, so not too many adults please!
The workshops will be held in the store building, under the supervision of Plas Brondanw staff and the artist Meg Griffiths, who has worked with a number of local schools on creative projects. The finished work will be exhibited in the Dome, an iconic building on the upper slope of Portmeirion village, which is a public exhibition centre, as part of Portmeirion's centenary celebrations.
There will be an opportunity after the workshops for the children and their families to come back to see their work installed in the Dome, this is to be arranged soon!
To celebrate the centenary of the village of Portmeirion, Plas Brondanw and Portmeirion are working together to offer these workshops where the children will create a cardboard installation inspired by the buildings of Portmeirion, or Boxmeirion!
The children in the three workshops will create different elements, and at the end the work will be put together, and exhibited in the Dome, the iconic Clough Williams-Ellis building, which houses an exhibition centre on the upper slope of the village.
The main cost of the workshops is funded by Portmeirion and Plas Brondanw, but we ask for a small contribution to ensure commitment to the project. This will be used to pay for drinks and light refreshments to keep everyone going during the build! When booking tickets you can choose whether to contribute £3, £5 or £8.
